The accused, Raju Pal (22), resident of Bihar, allegedly stabbed Vandana Wankhade to death last night, he said.
The accused was working in a juice stall run by victim's husband, Santosh, and used to stay with the couple in a shanty near Mumbai Central.
Pal had allegedly developed an affair with Wankhede. When her husband came to know about their illicit relationship, he threw Raju out of their house a few days ago.
Last night, Pal barged into couple's house in an inebriated state and stabbed the duo, the officer said.
The accused then tried to escape but was arrested by our point duty staff, who were informed by neighbours, at Mumbai Central station, he said.
Pal has been booked under section 302 (murder) and 307 (attempt to murder), the officer said, adding investigations are underway.
