The incident was reported yesterday noon from Rithala Metro station where Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel manning the CCTV surveillance area noticed a woman roaming around with a young girl child and later she was seen stepping on the tracks.
"The woman, a resident of Rithala village, said she came to the station with an intent to commit suicide after she had a tiff with her husband. She did not disclose any further reasons to the security personnel counselling her, after which she was handed over to Metro authorities and her family was informed," a senior CISF official said.
CISF is mandated to secure Delhi Metro network.
