young woman was found in a septic tank at Kalyan township in Thane, police said today.
The unidentified body was packed in a gunny bag and dumped in the septic tank of a toilet belonging to the Kalyan Dombivili Municipal Corporation (KDMC), and had been apparently lying there for over a week.
Yesterday, when the residents of the locality experienced foul smell out of the toilet septic tank, they alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and fished out the body, which was decomposed beyond recognition.
Kolsewadi police have registered an offence against unknown persons under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) of IPC and sent the body for postmortem.
