About six men, carrying batons and stones, barged in the house of Sunita Devi, sarpanch of Hilalpur panchayat, and attacked Devi, her husband and other relatives this morning, a police official said.
Devi sustained serious injuries in the attack and was admitted to the Hajipur Sadar Hospital, he said, adding, her husband and other relatives, including a woman, also suffered injuries.
Land dispute and old rivalry could be the reason for the attack, the officer added.
