The speeding cab dashed into the sand-laden truck moving ahead of it at Pathardi Phata on Mumbai-Agra National Highway in Nashik last night, an official at Ambad police station here said.
Priyanka Dahale (26), resident of Nashik and working as a journalist in a leading Marathi daily at Mumbai, was coming to the city from the state capital for her 'engagement' function when the mishap occurred.
Dahale, cab driver Bhupindersing Jogindersing Sainy (60) and another passenger Mohsin died on the spot, police said.
Priyanka earlier worked with a Nashik-based newspaper.
She later joined the Marathi daily and was recently transferred to its Mumbai office.
Her funeral was held at Amardham crematorium here this morning.
