Mamta Singh and Harshita Awasthi (24), both teachers in a private school, were riding a scooty on their way back home yesterday when they were hit by the truck, it said.
While Mamta died on the spot Harshita sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the district hospital, police said.
The driver and cleaner of the truck fled from spot after the incident, they added.
