Woman teacher killed in road mishap

A 25-year-old woman teacher died and another was injured when the scooty they were riding was hit by truck in Khairabad area here, police said today.
Mamta Singh and Harshita Awasthi (24), both teachers in a private school, were riding a scooty on their way back home yesterday when they were hit by the truck, it said.
While Mamta died on the spot Harshita sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the district hospital, police said.
The driver and cleaner of the truck fled from spot after the incident, they added.
