A 59-year-old woman tested positive for coronavirus in Aurangabad city of Maharashtra, taking the number of such cases in the state to 32 on Sunday, health department officials said.
The woman is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Aurangabad, they said.
"The woman has tested positive for Covid-19. She had travelled to Russia and Kazakhstan recently," an official said.
Aurangabad district health officer Dr Sundar Kulkarni said no severe symptoms of infection were found in the woman and her condition is stable.
"She is currently being treated at the private hospital and decision about whether she should be shifted to a government facility, will be taken by the local civic body and the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH)," he said.
With this case, the number of persons infected by coronavirus has now gone up to 32 in the state, health department officials said.
Apart from the case in Aurangabad, 15 coronavirus positive cases have been confirmed in Pune and nearby Pimpri Chinchwad area, eight in Mumbai and surrounding areas, four in Nagpur, two in Yavatmal and one each in Thane and Ahmednagar, they said.
