The conference, to be inaugurated by Union Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi, is expected to take up major issues including re-structuring of Integrated Child Development Scheme, reform of Adoption process and mandatory registration of child care institutions.
It will review the implementation of various schemes of the Ministry and will be attended by Women and Child Development minister of state governments, officers of state governments, representatives of World Bank, UNICEF and Tata Trust among others.
The ministry is also expected to propose new initiatives to be undertaken in the area of protecting women and children including deliberating on framing a comprehensive strategy on trafficking of women, the release said.
Progress of implementation of 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao', One-Stop Centres, National Helplines will be reviewed.
