Work on Thermal station to commence in Feb next

Work on the 600 MW Thermal Power Station at Uppur near Thiruvadanai would commence in February, 2016 and completed in the next five years, top officials today said.
Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation LTD (TANGEDCO) Executive Engineer Chinniah and Tahsildhar Muthiah announced this to reporters here.
Officials were here in connection with the public hearing for land acquisition for the project.
The land owners demanded better compensation.
The work would begin in February, 2016 and completed in the next five years,they added.
