Worker killed in elephant attack

A 50-year-old estate worker died after he was attacked by an elephant near K G Chavadi on the city outskirts, police said today.
Chinnapayyan, who was returning home around 10 PM yesterday, did not notice the elephant standing in front of him, police said.
As he was trying to escape, the jumbo threw him with its trunk, resulting in multiple injuries.
Some other workers managed to scare the pachyderm away and rushed him to the government hospital here.
However, he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
