The new addition would allow customers to pay directly from a bank account to different merchants, both online and offline, the travel portal said in a release.
UPI is a system that powers multiple bank accounts into a single mobile application (of any participating bank), merging several banking features, seamless fund routing and merchant payments into one hood.
With UPI being adopted by 29 banks and bringing them all under one umbrella, user will not have to install multiple apps for different banks any longer, it said.
Yatra will soon be introducing UPI on its application as well, he said.
UPI will bypass IFSC code, bank account number, and addition of a beneficiary by making transactions easy without the need for personal details.
Yatra has been a differentiator in the OTA industry by providing EMI's and seven different wallet payment options to its customers, it added.
