Former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Yolanda Hadid has undergone a surgery in her latest effort to beat Lyme disease and is recovering.
The estranged wife of music producer David Foster was left struggling to read, write or watch television after being diagnosed with the tick-borne infection in 2012, due to the painful neurological symptoms associated with the illness, reported People magazine.
However, Yolanda has continued to fight the condition, and the 52-year-old reality star took to Instagram to reveal she is winning her battle with Lyme disease as she nears the end of her Transvascular Autonomic Modulation (TVAM) treatment, which aims to relieve patients of symptoms like fatigue and lack of cognitive function.
"I am seeking, I am striving and I am in it to win it with all of my heart," she captioned a photo of herself in a hospital bed, adding the hashtags, "#LymeDiseaseAwareness #TvamSurgery #LastChapter #SearchingForACure #RemissionInSight."
Yolanda isn't the only one in her family to struggle with Lyme disease - models Bella and Anwar, her children with ex-husband Mohamed Hadid, have also been diagnosed with the condition.
Yolanda, who is also mother to 21-year-old runway star Gigi Hadid, is expected to detail her journey to full health in a planned memoir, which is set for release next year.
