Young lovers commit suicide in Odisha

Two young lovers disturbed by their parents' opposition to the relationship allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves from a tree at Temra of Kalahandi district, about 55 km from here, police said today.
Their bodies were found hanging from the branch of a tree this morning, the police said, adding the villagers suspected the incident occurred last night.
The 20-year-old boy was from Mali caste while the girl, who was 16, belonged to Sabar caste (ST).
The boy had completed ITI and the girl was a class 9th dropout, police said.
Preliminary enquiry reveals that there was love affair between the two but their families were opposed to it, police said.

However, Tankadhar Naik, the father of the deceased boy, alleged that his son was killed.
