Youth Akali Dal leader commits suicide

A Youth Akali Dal leader allegedly committed suicide here following which police today booked seven persons, including two senior leaders of the ruling Akali Dal for abetment of suicide.
Santokh Singh Sukhana, National General Secretary of the Youth Akali Dal, was today found hanging in a bathroom of a hotel, SHO Kotwali Inspector Dharm Pal said. Said.
Seven persons, including two Akali leaders namely Pritam Singh Bhairowal and Gurdip Singh Gosha a Youth Akali leader, have been booked by the police on basis of the suicide note recovered, he said.
Sukhana had been recently been arrested by Delhi police in a fraud case (under IPC sections 420 and 406) of Rs 35 lakhs and had been brought to the city for further investigation by a Delhi Police team and was staying in the hotel with the police, Pal said.

A suicide note was recovered from his pocket in which he had written that there was another note was at his residence at Sukhana village near Raikot following which police recovered that note and booked the seven persons.
Police have also registered a case of negligence against Delhi Police team, Sub Inspector Sanjay Tomar, Head Constable Tara Chand and constable Anil Kumar.
Santokh's younger brother, Rajdeep Singh Sukhana, alleged that his brother was arrested in a false case. "My brother was innocent," he said.
