Youth attacks parents with axe, father dies

Reprimanded for having liquor, a 22-year-old youth allegedly attacked his parents with an axe, killing his father while seriously injuring mother at Baralota locality of Medininagar in Palamau district today, police said.
The accused son, Kanhaiya Bhuiyan got infuriated when his father Ramdhin Bhuiyan (50) and mother Munni Devin (45) reprimanded him for having liquor and allegedly attacked them with an axe, police sources said.
The parents sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Sadar Hospital, Medininagar, where Ramdhin succumbed to his injuries in course of treatment, sources said adding that the condition of Munni Devi was serious.
A FIR in this connection was registered on the statement of Kanhaiya's younger brother, Sanjay.

Kanhaiya was at large, police added.
