Youth booked for provoking girl to commit suicide

A youth has been booked for allegedly provoking a girl to commit suicide. He had allegedly molested the girl after which she hanged herself, police said today.
The girl attempted suicide on May 16 and eventually died in a hospital on May 23, Deputy Inspector General of police Rajendra Kumar Singh said.
According to the complaint lodged by the victim's family last Saturday, the accused Malkhan allegedly molested her following which, the girl tried to commit suicide, Deputy Inspector General of police Rajendra Kumar Singh said.
Though she was immediately rescued by her family members and was admitted to a hospital in Aligarh, she died on May 23, he said.
The body was sent for post-mortem on May 25, Singh said, adding investigation is underway.
