Youth Congress activists blocked trains at nearby Aluva and Ernakulam north railway stations protesting against the hike in passenger and freight fares.

The activists blocked the Kanyakumari bound Island Express from Bangalore at nearby Aluva station and raised slogans against the rail fare hike.

Police arrested and removed the activists against whom Railway Protection Force has registered a case against the activists, RPF sources said.

The youth congress activists also blocked Memu train coming from Palakkad to Ernakulam at the North railway station, railway police said.
