The body of Pravesh Kumar (26), who was picked by police yesterday for questioning in connection with his younger brother eloping with a girl, was found hanging in the lockup this morning, sources said.
However, relatives of the victim alleged that Pravesh was picked 11 days ago and he died because of police torture.
SP Dalveer Singh Yadav said no case was registered against Pravesh and he was called to the police station for an inquiry about the whereabouts of his brother.
