Youth held for circulating objectionable messages on Whatsapp

A 25-year-old youth has been arrested here for allegedly circulating objectionable messages on religious figures through mobile messaging application WhatsApp, police said today.
A complaint was lodged by one Nitin Bhujwa against Akiq for making objectionable messages via Whatsapp, following which police did an inquiry and arrested the latter from his house yesterday, Additional SP Dinesh Tripathi said.
Akib, had made a group on Whatsapp to circulate messages, he said, informing he has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and 67 of the IT Act.
Other numbers of the group are being examined, the officer said.
