Assistant police inspector Govind Borade of Kashimira police station said today that after the incident on January 11, Hiresh Patel, Dinesh Mali and Avi Patel tried to mislead the police by claiming that an unidentified person had fired at them.
The incident took place when they were on their way back to Gujarat and got down near Valiv to relive themselves, they told police.
But the probe revealed that no stranger was involved in the incident; it was a case of revolver going off when one of them was fingering it while staying at a lodge in Kashimira and injuring Avi Patel (22).
