Youth killed over love affair in Bihar
Press Trust of India Sheohar A youth was allegedly lynched over a love affair and his body hanged from a tree at a village in Sheohar district of Bihar, a police officer said.
Two persons, including a woman, have been arrested in this connection, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Abdul Khaliq said.
The 18-year-old youth, Raghunath Rai alias Nanhak, was beaten to death at Tariyani Chapra village yesterday and his body hanged from a tree by assailants who reportedly disapproved of his affair with a village girl, the SDPO said.
The killing took place in the aftermath of a decision by the local panchayat two days ago which had disapproved of the victim's affair with the girl of the same village and imposed Rs 51,000 fine on him, besides ordering his banishment from the village, Khaliq said.
On being informed by the locals, the police rushed to the spot and removed the body and sent it for post-mortem, he said.
Multiple injuries were found on the victim's body, he said.
Raids were being carried out to nab eleven other accused persons named in the FIR, the SDPO said.
