Youth slips into Chenab river in Kishtwar, washed away

A youth today slipped into river Chenab and was washed away in it in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The victim, identified as, 35-year-old Koushal Kumar, was part of a group, who were cutting some trees in mountainous Ikhala village on the banks of the river Chenab in order to collect wood. He slipped from the hill top and fell into the river this morning, district officials said.
He was washed away by the strong currents of the river, they said, adding police and locals have launched operation to trace him.
