The company, which reaches 1.3 billion viewers globally with the presence in over 173 countries, said the new brand identity would help it to tap more global audiences.
"The fresh look represents our mission of unifying world with entertainment. The circle symbolises inclusiveness and continuity, while the colour amethyst represents creativity and transformation. It is a huge leap forward, conveying the true essence of ZEE as a media and entertainment powerhouse," ZEEL Managing Director and CEO Punit Goenka told reporters here.
The company plans to launch its digital platform Z5 soon.
"With the vision of becoming the world's leading global content company from the emerging markets, content is our core focus area and our primary objective is to create extraordinary content for all types of audience across different screens and platforms. Digital is a key focus area and we are soon t launch our digital platform Z5 in the next few weeks. We are looking at digital as the next 25 years growth driver for us globally," ZEEL International Broadcast Business CEO Amit Goenka said.
"The clear differentiator for any OTT platform will be content. When we launch our OTT platform, our content will be distinct. ZEE's OTT platform will have the largest bouquet of content on it. It will span Hindi and another 11 regional languages, and a large film library in multiple languages. TV content will also be available on the platform but we will have a lot more than just TV content," he said.
Amit Goenka added that the plan is consolidate all the video platforms under Z5.
