If any official or other person is found involved in corruption for arranging favourable postings at any level in the department, strict action will be taken, Health and Family Welfare Minister Surjeet Kumar Jayani said.
Transfers would be done on merit and all efforts will be made to adjust doctors and other employees at the nearest places of their residences, he said, chairing a meeting of Civil Surgeons and Senior Medical Officers (SMOs) here, an official statement said.
He said complaint boxes would be put up at prominent places in hospital premises and warned that government doctors doing private practice would not be tolerated.
