Zinc prices fell by 0.97% to Rs 127 per kg in futures trade today after speculators reduced their exposure, tracking a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August eased by Rs 1.25, or 0.97%, to Rs 127 per kg in a business turnover of 14 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in July fell by Rs 1.15, or 0.90%, to Rs 126.40 per kg in 393 lots.

Market analysts said zinc prices fell due to a weak trend in base metals in global markets.
