Zinc futures traded 0.41 per cent lower at Rs 120.50 per kg today largely in tandem with a weak trend in global markets amid muted demand at domestic spot markets.
In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in September contracts shed 50 paise or 0.41 per cent to Rs 120.50 per kg in a business turnover of 971 lots.
Metal for delivery in October was also trading 40 paise or 0.33 per cent lower at Rs 121.35 per kg in a business volume of 27 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange and slackened demand at domestic spot markets, mainly weighed on zinc futures.
