BSE Sensex recovers to end flat; IT stocks gain

MUMBAI (Reuters) - The BSE Sensex recovered to end flat on Wednesday after falling nearly 3 percent led by gains in software services exporters such as Tata Consultancy Services, while banks recovered on value buying.

Life Insurance Corporation was also spotted buying shares, two dealers told Reuters.

Tata Consultancy Services gained 3.76 percent, while HDFC Bank Ltd ended 0.01 percent lower after falling as much as 5.9 percent.

The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 0.16 percent after marking its lowest intraday level in nearly a year, while the broader Nifty fell 0.05 percent.
