TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's crude oil imports last month fell 15.4 percent from a year earlier to 2.99 million barrels per day (13.33 million kilolitres), the lowest for the month of February since 1969, monthly data from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) showed on Friday.
Total oil sales last month rose 1.7 percent from a year earlier to 3.55 million barrels per day (bpd), or 15.79 million kilolitres.
Kerosene sales rose nearly 8 percent last month from a year earlier as temperatures were colder than normal, a METI official said.
Japan imported Tapis Blend crude from Malaysia for the first time since 2013, the official said.
