WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Commerce Department on Tuesday made a preliminary finding that imports of biodiesel from Indonesia and Argentina were subsidized, a U.S. industry lobby group said.
The National Biodiesel Board Fair Trade Coalition said in a statement that the department would impose countervailing duties ranging from 50.29 percent to 64.17 percent for biodiesel from Argentina and 41.06 percent to 68.28 percent for biodiesel from Indonesia. In 2016, imports of biodiesel from Argentina and Indonesia were valued at an estimated $1.2 billion and $268 million, respectively, according to the department.
