11.90% Gilt Dealt For Rs 2 Crore

The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed dull trading with only 33 trades being reported for a volume of Rs 174.75 crore.

"The day saw active trading in the early trading hours but eventually trading interest disappeared," said a dealer. "The prices of securities, too, appreciated in the morning and stabilised at the same level by the end of the day," added dealers. The day witnessed trades for a term of 14 days being traded at the rate ranging from 10.50-12.70 per cent. The 11.55 per cent gilt maturing in 2001 saw eight trades for Rs 50 crore and at a weighted average yield of 11.52 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 99.93 and a high of Rs 100.

The treasury bill segment saw a volume of Rs 15 crore, the certificate of deposit sector posted a single trade for Rs 1 crore and the commercial paper section, too, saw a single trade for Rs 7 crore. The 13.75 per cent bonds of ICICI were traded for Rs 10 crore at a yield of 13.51 per cent. The 11.90 per cent 2007 saw four trades in the odd lot segment accounting for a volume of Rs 2 crore. The paper was traded at a weighted average yield of 12.10 per cent and at a price of Rs 98.85.
