The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange clocked a volume of Rs 556.86 crore of which the treasury bills segment accounted for a volume of Rs 80 crore. The corporate debentures segment of the bourse accounted for trades worth Rs 292.81 lakh yesterday.
There is hectic trading done in the government securities segment in the last three days accounting for a volume of Rs 1,580.20 crore as the call money is eased in the region of three-five per cent. There were 87 trades done at the government securities segment of which 11 trades were done in the treasury bills segment and the corporate debentures segment clocked 315 trades.
Among the government securities, the 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 and the 11.19 per cent gilt 2005 were in demand accounting for 26 trades and contributing a traded volume of Rs 155 crore. The 12.59 per cent loan maturing in 2004 was traded for Rs 85 crore at a weighted yield of 10.65 per cent. The paper was traded at a low of Rs 108.85, high of Rs 108.95 and closed at Rs 108.90 for the day.
The 11.19 per cent 2005 was traded for Rs 75 crore at a weighted yield of 10.69 per cent.
The security was traded at a low of Rs 102.34 and closed at the high of Rs 102.52 for the day.
