Future ready

Gartner, Inc. Gartner, Inc. has identified artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, internet of things (IoT), robotic process automation, autonomous things, digital supply chain twin, blockchain in supply chain and immersive experience as the top eight supply chain technology trends in 2019. The advisory company has predicted that each one of these technologies will be used even more in the coming days. "These technologies are those that supply chain leaders simply cannot ignore," said Christian Titze, research vice president at Gartner. While most of these technologies have been heard of in the past too, Gartner's latest report tracks how the dependence on them has shaped up and how these will help organisations become more proactive and actionable in managing their supply chains, both in taking advantage of future opportunities and avoiding potential future disruptions. "Organisations might use blockchain to track global shipments with tamper-evident labels, allowing a reduction in the time needed to send paperwork back and forth with port authorities and improved counterfeit identification," said Titze.

Seeking more personalised experiences, Indians are spending over 10 hours on their devices daily, representing the changing content consumption habits, a new Adobe survey has revealed. In the survey titled "2019 Brand Content Survey", the software major found that two-third of those surveyed were using two devices at the same time constantly or frequently, reported Indo Asian News Service. Over 400 million millennials in India choose trustworthy brands that respect their privacy primarily, the findings showed. "Brands that can strike the right level of personalisation will forge stronger connections with their customers, resulting in brand loyalty and growth," said Sunder Madakshira, head, marketing, Adobe India.
