Air India Woos Top Companies With Package Deal
Air India is wooing leading corporates like Ranbaxy and Maruti Udyog with a special ticketing package that includes free upgrades, priority confirmation and excess baggage. So far, only government officials were entitled to such facilities as the entire government travel account is with the airline.
The airline's hardsell to corporates follows an in-house market study which revealed that travel agents and foreign airlines earn a substantial part of their business through bulk booking on behalf of companies.
Some foreign airlines also extend special facilities to corporates in exchange for guaranteed business during a particular period.
