Credit cards are really needed for the under privileged to buy essentials, to educate their women on matters of family planning and cottage industry skills and make their children healthy. They also need family insurance to safeguard themselves from unforeseen circumstances. We must also strive to adapt a technology to help the millions of unemployed youth to obtain gainful employment.
The problem is not only economic or political but social also, wherein we have to create honest and sincere young leaders to lead a co-operative framework from village upwards. Investment per se in a democratic framework will not lead to progress, if we ignore human development based on talent. The new UF government will have to establish such institutional framework as would strike a balance between growth in the market economy by firms and corporations and judicious distribution of wealth, with the help of bureaucracy and non-government organisations.
Laws which promote corruption will have to be drastically changed. In addition horse trading to form government's should be done away with. People want a honest team to rule, regardless of parties. The UF government with 13 party coalition should complete the common minimum programme in a time bound plan. Otherwise, a day is not far away when under the privileged will rise in revolt and grab power. We must buy peace before it is too late.
