The Bihar government has strongly opposed the Centres decision to lease out coal mines to private companies. Bihar mines and geology minister Shanker Prasad Tekriwal yesterday said Bihar had the largest coal reserves of 70,000 million tonnes in the country and the decision to lease the mines to private companies would have an adverse impact on the states exchequer.
