As of now, over 15 months after its launch in India, the company has attained a market share of 40 per cent in the mid-size car segment. With the opening of its new plant at Surajpur (for engines and transaxles) in July 1997, the company will increase the indigenous content from 45 per cent to 80 to 90 per cent in 1997-98.
