Fiat India Automobiles Ltd yesterday announced up to Rs 30,000 reduction in prices of its various Siena models.

The company says the reduction in prices has been effected in order to pass on the benefits of its localisation programme to the consumers.

With the revision, Siena versions now costs lesser than both Ford Ikon and Hyundai Accent.

Siena ELX Petrol is priced at Rs 5.91 lakh, while Ikon Zxi costs Rs 6.45 lakh and Hyundai Accent GLS is priced at Rs 6.37 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai), a Fiat statement said.

The petrol Siena ELX with power steering, which was priced at Rs 6,07,581 (ex-showroom , Mumbai), will now cost Rs 5,91,288.

Similarly, Siena Petrol ELX SP, which was priced at Rs 6,75,995 will now be priced at Rs 6,59,704. Siena Diesel EL, which was priced at Rs 6,53,101 (ex-showroom, Mumbai) is now priced at Rs 6,36,810.

The price of Siena Diesel ELX with power steering has been reduced from Rs 7,06,062 to Rs 6,89,771 and the Siena ELX PS2 SP version now costs 7,58,186, against Rs 7,74,478. (all prices are ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The company has also announced a 10 to 30 per cent cut in the spare parts prices of the vehicle.

Fiat said it reduced the prices of the car after a strong localisation programme and it was sprucing up its marketing and production departments to ensure faster availability of the car and its spare parts.

The localisation content of the Siena was 45 per cent before the present increase.
