HSBC James Capel Asia, a unit of HSBC Holdings Plc, said on Tuesday it had conducted a regionwide restructuring and cut staff by eight percent in its research and sales departments in Asia. "We have conducted a regionwide restructuring of our activity and a key element of that restructuring is that research and sales are going to increase their emphasis on sectors while retaining equities in the country base approach," said Sawchoo Dickson, head of corporate communications of HSBC James Capel. "Of the restructuring, there will be a very modest reduction in staff numbers of about eight percent," she said.
