This is on the news that Hindustan Lever (HLL) was spinning off its speciality chemicals business into a separate venture with ICI.
This comes in the wake of HLL's parent Unilever selling off its speciality chemicals business to Britain's Imperial Chemicals Industries (parent of ICI).
However, in the Indian venture, HLL is not selling off but plans to have some stake because the company has already some unrelated diversification's like fertiliser business.

So it hopes to maintain its core business detergents and cosmetics in spite of having a stake in the joint venture.
