Indian Quotation Systems (IQS) and Telerate International Company yesterday announced that they had reached an agreement for the distribution of Telerate's information services in India through IQS. Telerate, the former Dow Jones Markets unit, acquired by Bridge Information Systems earlier this year, has had an office in India since 1992. IQS will now become Telerate's exclusive distributor in India and will also take over responsibility for supporting existing Telerate business.
Incorporated in 1990, IQS is one of the major providers of real-time financial information in India. Leading banks, institutions and companies subscribe to the online information services provided by IQS.
IQS is the existing Indian distributor for Telerate's parent company, Bridge Information Systems. IQS is also the exclusive distributor for Bridge Information Systems products and services in India under a separate distribution agreement.
"The Bridge and Telerate ranges of information services complement each other in many ways. We will now be able to offer our customers a powerful and comprehensive range of information together with Bridge's superior delivery technology," an IQS official statement quoting the company's managing director, Ajay Puri said. "We are thrilled with the international expansion of Telerate products and services in emerging markets," the company release quoted Telerate president John Jessop as saying.
The latest range of Bridge and Telerate information services will be introduced in India later this year, including an expansion in Bridge News Services. The new products being launched in India include Telerate's digital platforms, which have the largest market share in Asia, and Bridge's latest BridgeStation, BridgeFeed and BridgeChannel offerings. Bridge Information Systems is a global market data company. Through terminal and market data feed products, Bridge Information Systems International and its affiliates and Telerate supply over 180,000 users with information and news on equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives and commodities.
The Bridge trading and technology centre in St Louis operates a broadband, state-of-the-art communications system that collects and disseminates market data and applications to institutional investors, brokers, dealers, exchanges, corporations and state and local governments. Bridge is also the co-producer of the Nightly Business Report and is a leading provider of news and information to media companies worldwide.
