As part of its newly chalked out global marketing strategy, the company is focussing on the customised Free Individual Travellers (FIT) among its already existing market of corporate travellers base. ITH aims to achieve significant market share and carve a niche for itself in this segment.

It will be shortly venturing into e-commerce as a part of its extensive global strategy.

The company has recorded a 89 per cent growth in its pre-tax profit at Rs 81 lakh in the first quarter of the current fiscal over the corresponding period the previous year. This rise has been attributed to an intensive marketing drive undertaken by the company. The firm has already recorded a 35.3 per cent growth in its business turnover of Rs 55.41 crore compared to Rs 40.97 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Managing director Anil Bhandari says, "We see ourselves as travel managers and consultants and not just travel agents. We take the initiative of understanding and analysing travel patterns and spends within an organisation and leverage our collective buying power to get the best possible deals and benefits for our customers be it for domestic or international airline ticketing, hotels reservations, car rentals, holidays, conferences and incentives".

The company has recently adopted a totally innovative way of doing business. It has started the concept of "Open Book" transaction fee and management fee. For large corporate houses, the company has a dedicated and exclusive team of Travel Counsellors based at the location to handle all day-to-day transactions. For the facility of the clients, special products have been created like tele-ticketing, tele-car-hire and fly-now-pay-later schemes.

According to Bhandari, one of the key strengths of the company lies in the firm's ability to harness the support of its wide network, whereby corporate clients travelling anywhere within the system could be assisted, met and escorted by a team of professionals specially trained in the activity. This has been specially facilitated by the introduction of customer help-lines.
