Maharashtra has recaptured the number one spot in Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy's (CMIE) annual survey of investments in different states, thanks to 59 new projects being offered at a global investors' convention that opens here today.

The latest CMIE survey on investments, scheduled for release today, shows Maharashtra with the highest figure of Rs 1,30,378 crore. Karnataka is a close second with Rs.1,28,388 crore.

While with Rs 121,566-crore investments Gujarat has been placed third, Orissa takes up the fourth position with Rs 101,540 crore.
