The top three markets that have seen maximum growth are Pune (85 per cent), Kolkata (76 per cent) and Ahmedabad (61 per cent). Kolkata has seen a 250 per cent growth in the category of packers and movers outside India. Kolkata, Chennai and Pune are the most active markets for all four categories of packers and movers - car carriers, outside India, within India and within city - exhibiting maximum flux and movement.
Satya Prabhakar, CEO, Sulekha, said the study indicated how millennials in India are constantly on the move. "They are not deeply rooted to any city and are willing to move around for better career opportunities and prospects. Packers and movers is a high-value category in the $200 billion local services market in India."
