The selected projects were among the twelve proposals submitted by the government for approval.

The multilateral funding agency was set up under the Montreal Protocol, 1987, to help industries in developing countries phase out the consumption and production of ODS within a specific time-frame.

BPL Refrigerators will use the assistance to replace the use of CFI-11 and CFI-12 with HCFC_141b (Hydrochloroflurocarbon-141B) and HFC-134a while manufacturing domestic refrigerators.

Sandeep refrigeration will eliminate the use of CFCs and Prashant Refrigeration will replace CFI-11 and CFI-12 with HCFC-141b and HFC-134 during the manufacture of commercial refrigeration equipment. In the case of Malhotra Shaving Products, the aid will be used to convert precision cleaning and coating processes from ODS solvents to heat cleaning technologies and ODS-free solvent coatings.
