The Madhya Pradesh government has entered into memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with 18 companies in the private sector for setting up power plants with a total installed capacity of around 7,600 mw, said state energy minister N P Prajapati yesterday. In a written reply to a question, the minister said these plants were expected to be commissioned in periods varying from 1998-99 to 2003-2004. Answering another question, Prajapati said the government was also planning to set up mini power plants with a capacity of 25 mw each at 36 places.
