Novell Inc announced the delivery of Netware 5 beta 2 and the availability of Netscape FastTrack server for its customers. These two features provide customers with full compatibility between NetWare 5's TCP/IP and existing IPX networks. It includes Netscape FastTrack server for NetWare and Netscape communicator and enables the customers to deploy leading Web publishing solutions on the networking platform. It also announced that a recent independent GartnerGroup study reported that the cost of ownership for customer's using Novell's GroupWise is far lower than for those using Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange. The study said that the cost-per-user for GroupWise was $ 136.00 whereas it was $ 486.00 for Exchange and $ 719.00 for Notes.
