The Madhya Pradesh government has dismissed a land acquisition officer with immediate effect for financial irregularities and amassing wealth up to Rs 45 lakh, disproportionate to his known sources of income. The action was taken after the State Economic Offences Investigation Bureau, Bhopal, conducted raids on P N Sharmas residences, an official release said here yesterday. Sharma was initially posted as deputy collector, Tawa Canal, Hoshangabad, and later as land acquisition officer, Rajghat project in Chanderi in Guna district, since 1982 when he allegedly amassed disproportionate wealth.
