Exactly 57 years back, the British Admiral flashed a message to its fleet the world over saying Winston is back. This was when Winston Churchill took over as prime minister from Neville Chamberlain. This was just a reflection of the faith and confidence in Churchills leadership.
One is shocked at the elation of the Congress rank and file on Sonia Gandhi becoming a primary member of the party. It is a sad reflection upon a party that is 100 years old, and which boasts of having an essentially grassroots organisation, that it cannot find a person from within its cadre to lead the party, and still has to cling to a member of the Nehru/Gandhi clan.
Dynasties have ruled India, but that is history. Does it need to be repeated?
