Probe Into Mystery Bullet Gets Jolt

Investigations into the mystery bullet that struck Angad Chhabra received a minor jolt today with doctors attending to him today stating that the removal of bullet by surgery was not on the cards.
"We have examined him and found that he is absolutely hale and hearty. In fact, we may be discharging him from hospital by latest day after tomorrow," said Dr Virdhi.
The bullet, he says, would remain lodged in Angad's chest.
Negating all possible fears about the presence of a "foreign object" in the body, the Dr Virdhi said, "It is perfectly alright and there is no danger whatsoever. There are people from the World War who have shrapnel's lodged within them and are perfectly normal. So it is not an unheard of thing."
The development comes as a setback to investigating officials who had stated earlier that for a conclusive inference into the mystery bullet it was crucial that the bullet be extracted. This they had said would help them clarify the calibre of the bullet. "To determine the calibre of the bullet, the weight and dimension of the bullet has to be scrutinised. Mere examination of the X-ray report does not help him," said a senior police official.
In the current scenario, it is reported that the police would have to depend on the inference of the arms dealer who is reported to have helped them identify the possible calibre -- according to which it was a .38 calibre bullet.
Now they would have to resort to various permutations to work out the suspected range of fire and the weapon used for the same.
Conclusive results would now also depend on the searches of the adjoining premises and the study of the list of gun licenses reportedly obtained from there.
