The company registered a further improvement in margins during the third quarter of the financial year 1996-97. Gross profits margin during the three months ended December 1996 increased to 21.8 per cent from 19.3 per cent reported during the six months ended September 1996. Gross profit at Rs 7.58 crore during the third quarter was 61 per cent of gross profit of Rs 12.33 crore for the first half of 1996-97. Unaudited financial results for the nine months ended December 1996 shows an encouraging trend. The sales turnover of Rs 98.88 crore for the nine months of December 1996 declined by 12 per cent on an annualised basis over sales turnover of Rs 149.57 crore for the year ended March 1996. Gross profit shot up by 113 per cent to Rs 19.9 crore and net profit by 257 per cent to Rs 14.88 crore. Nahar Exports is quoted at Rs 24.50, against this the current annualised EPS works out to Rs 8.37.
